Donkey watercolor painting

Here's a little watercolor aceo of Daisy Donkey. When she first came to our house, from a rescue that does adoptions, she was so pushy! Pedro hated her and we weren't sure if we liked her or not either!

As she adapts to us, and we adapt to her, and she and Pedro adapt to each other, we're all coming to love each other very much, thank you! She's got the absolute funniest personality and she makes us laugh every day. She tries to help us do every single thing we do and she'd come in the house if we'd let her.

I don't think she'd be scared to follow me around in the kitchen while I work.

This donkey aceo card is painted on gessoed 300lb watercolor paper and varnished with several coats of matte varnish to protect it. I'll be posting it on ebay soon.

Thanks for stopping by this blog, if you're looking for any particular thing, scan the links to your right, and my other paintings will show up there. You can find paintings of all kinds of animals here.

Scratch Cat, painting is finished.

The photo I began this painting from is above. You can see, when you work from a photo, you don't have to copy it literally. I like to take them and double or triple whatever emotion I see in the photo.

In real life, the cat was annoyed because it was a cold snowy day, he was squinting from the sun bouncing off the snow. I had fun making this cat look ticked off. :)

Scratch Cat

I'm not finished yet, but I had to post this one. It's got me laughing. I love the "Make my day!" look on this cat's face! This is an ACEO card, and I'll be putting it on ebay tomorrow.

Now, I'm off to put whiskers on him...

Years ago, I baby sat my neighbor's daughter before she went to school. She came to see me one day and I had a new cat. I asked her if she wanted to pet the cat. She asked, "Is it a scratch cat?"

Well that cat wasn't a scratch cat, but this one is! Watch out for him!

Chico's Bow Tie

I all ready need to post an update to this as I saw something I had to change, right after I scanned this. In the center of the bow tie, I added a shadow to deepen the look of the feathers. Chico is so pretty, I don't suppose I'm doing him justice, but I'm having the time of my life painting him.

This painting will go on ebay today also. Thanks for stopping by and if you want to bid on my items, do a seller search for jackmorgan! Mad Macaw

Still painting my sons bird. He was looking mad here. It's really fun to paint different subjects and have new shapes and colors to use. Kind of makes you think about what you're doing, instead of painting by formulas.

There's still horse art, cow art, and wildlife art on my website. :)

Macaw

My son has a Macaw named Chico. I might have spelled his name wrong but it's pronounced the same. Chico and I got a little bit aquainted over Christmas. He finally came to me without complaint and would gladly eat out of my hand. Of course, he eats from anyone who will feed him, but it was fun to have him willingly step onto my arm.

This painting, posted this morning on ebay, for .50 starting price. Go place a bid now!

I took a lot of pictures of Chico, while I had the chance and I need to practise painting him so I can do a good painting for Johnnie. He wants a life size one.

You can see more paintings on my website, many of them are horse art.
